Q-Lab / Tactical Simulation
007 First Light mixes campaign routes, gadget problem-solving, safe codes, and mission blockers. This page keeps the quick answer tied to the in-game location so you can jump back into the route without losing context.
How TacSim works
Framed in-fiction as a simulation run by Dr. Selina Tan, TacSim takes the campaign's locations and turns them into objective-driven playgrounds. There are two main mission types:
- Escalations — story locations with fresh objectives, three difficulty tiers, and randomized "Game Changer" modifiers.
- Operations — single-difficulty missions that reward exploration and adaptation.
Each mission stacks 7–10 challenges (mini-tasks), such as using the Q-Lens or Q-Watch at a specific moment.
Rewards and progression
TacSim runs on two currencies: XP raises your TacSim Clearance Level (unlocking shop items), and Intel is spent on gadgets, suits, and cosmetics. Final mission scores feed a global leaderboard — factoring takedown speed, cameras disabled, and more — so it's where the game's competitive replay value lives.
When does TacSim unlock?
TacSim opens early — after the first chapter, when Bond receives his gadgets at MI6 — but only two training missions (Advanced Combat and Advanced Melee) are available at first. The full set of TacSim missions unlocks after you finish the campaign, which is why it factors heavily into completionist playtime.
